The dropped stitch

Real snow!

There was no sign of snow at home, but 15 miles up the road Kirkwall was blanketed in several inches. The schools were closed and there were younsters sledging down the hill near Corse Farm.

All but the main roads were difficult to navigate but as it happened my car was to be in the garage getting new tyres, so I walked round the town.

The soft, crunchy snow was a delight to walk in. It felt so much safer than the day last week when I was skittering around on the ice.

By 5pm my feet were wet and cold but I really enjoyed the day's work and capturing some wintery photos along the way.
