Mixed emotions

A bit more cleaning and tidying done, spare room ready, dessert for tomorrow's meal prepared - all in good time to meet Lucy from her train due to arrive in Berwick early afternoon. Except it didn't arrive then! After a slow and difficult journey thanks to engineering works and the rail strikes the government ministers who blocked a possible deal to call off the rail strikes, she arrived well over two hours late. Never mind, just happy that she made it, if only for a very short time!

No time for the planned walk, so MrM drove us home for an early meal, a relaxing evening, and a film.

Very sad to learn that Aidan, a friend - and very active Friend of the Earth - from Preston days way back in the '80s', died a week ago. He was a one-off, a bit eccentric and a real gentleman - a truly good guy. RIP Aidan.
