Arctic tern

Lucy requested a walk on Lindisfarne. I was keen to go there too - if/when we move we'll be much further away from the sea, and it's unlikely that we'll be visiting this lovely island again any time soon. The tides were favourable, as was the weather forecast for the morning, so we set off early(ish!).

We had a lovely walk out to the white obelisk at Emmanuel Head (just visible on the horizon towards the right of the Blip), and passed some of the willow sculptures on the way, including the Arctic tern and a lapwing (extra). Then Sod's Law kicked in  - the rain started as we approached the obelisk, the furthest point from any shelter! It was torrential, and by the time we reached the Ship Inn we resembled drowned rats! Never mind, MrM treated us to lunch, and by the time left the pub to walk back to the van the rain had eased off a little.

Back home for a game of Scrabble, a meal, and another film - 'Knives Out'.

(The second extra is a view of the Castle, before the rain started.)
