Edinburgh Castle, Castle of Lights

Back where it all began, 10 years ago in Edinburgh on 1st January 2013. Back where Blipfoto began too, so that’s a sort of neat circle too. It’s like being a Monarch, you have two birthdays, the multiple of 365 then the actual birthday a day or so later.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of my journal over the past 10 years. I value your contribution, support, enthusiasm and friendship. I’ve learned so much in that time and now have a precious resource which will continue to grow into the future..

It is the people, you blippers and Blip Central who make this place what it is, a positive, inclusive and joyous community. All of life is portrayed within our journals. Thank you to you all.

Just for the record, we caught the bus to Kingsknowe and walked along the Union Canal into Edinburgh, stopping for lunch then walking on to Princes Street, Christmas Market and on up to the Castle. While we were waiting for Barbara and David we popped into The Jolly Judge pub for a pint.

The Light Show in the Castle was very interesting, rather chilly on top of the rock. Some mesmerising displays and readings. We were glad to get down and catch another bus to the Scottish Malt Whisky Society place at the Vaults at Leith. Several drams were tried and enjoyed along with haggis and a cheeseboard.
