In the Gap

I can't believe it is the last day of the year.  It is lovely and sunny, and many people are out enjoying the lake.  +24C.

This morning I did a complete recce of Monday's walk.  It was just over 10K steps, which will be far enough if the weather is hot.  It took me just over 2 hours to complete.  I wonder how many walkers will show up!

Tonight Plan A is for Teen 'h' and her friends to welcome in the new year.  Not me, I plan to be fast asleep.  The reason I enjoy Matariki (Maori New Year), which is in June, is that the fireworks go off at 6 p.m.  A very sensible hour of day.  I guess the noise will wake me up in the middle of the night.

The extra photo is of people enjoying time by the lake.  That's Mt Iron in the background.
