This is Mackenzie Country

We set out for Wanaka this morning at 8.30, and had thick fog all the way to Burkes Pass, where it suddenly cleared to reveal a beautiful day.

We stopped at many places along the way to take photos (as you do!). We got some great photos of an abandoned cottage just outside of Kimbell, and the Clay Cliffs (which were spectacular) near Omarama.
We finally arrived at Wanaka at 4.00pm.

The weather has been unseasonably warm, with 22 degrees C at Wanaka today!

This photo was taken just south of Tekapo, in Mackenzie Country.

Tomorrow, we're off to Arrowtown & Queenstown. Then on Wednesday, spending the day in and around Wanaka, starting with a blip meet, with Tussock Tales and A Cycling Granny!
