Canoes by Lake Wakatipu

I couldn't think of a clever title for today's blip, I'm just too tired!

We've been to Arrowtown and Queenstown today, and everywhere in between.
We stopped at Cardrona and took some photos of the historic, and world-famous-in-New Zealand Cardrona Hotel.

We drove over the Crown Range, which, at it's summit is 1076 metres above sea level, and is the highest sealed road in New Zealand. The views were spectacular!

We took lots of photos at Arrowtown, of the historic wooden cottages, and the stone and mud brick (or something similar) cottages at the Chinese Village.

Then on to Queenstown, and more photos.

We stopped at the Cardrona Hotel on the way back to Wanaka, because it was almost dark, and wanted to take some photos of it with the lights on. Then we decided to get a meal there, as neither of us had ever been inside. It was really nice inside, quite original, with many historic things on display, and a cosy fire too!

Then we headed back to Wanaka, arriving at 7.30pm.

I took a total of 295 photos!!

I managed to narrow it down to ten, then to two, and have had a hard time deciding because I really like them both.

This photo was taken at the shore line at Lake Wakatipu, in Queenstown.
