Maddie and Mark’s shoe shop Bruntsfield

We’re going out with a large group of people, friends of Barbara and David’s, for a Chinese meal and then onto watch the fireworks outside the Cally Hotel afterwards. What happens after that remains to be seen.

Back in Edinburgh for Hogmanay for the first time since 2019. So much has happened in the intervening 3 years yet the time seems to have flown past.

We drove to Morningside this afternoon for a coffee and scone. We chose The Cuckoo in Bruntsfield. First calls coffee and the best cheese scones. On the way we passed this wonderfully decorated shoe shop which had to become today’s blip.

From Bruntsfield we walked past the Links and were attracted, moth like, to a highly lit building which turned out to be The Black Ivy. It would have been rude not to call in for a drink. So we did and very enjoyable it was too. A blipper had posted a shot of the splendid doorway recently.

On then for a circumnavigation of The Meadows, back down Morningside Road as far as Mellis’s cheese shop (closed) and back to the car, enjoying c and admiring decorations and trees displayed in the windows of the elegant houses around here.

All that remains is to wish you all a happy and healthy 2023 and a great year of blipping. See you next year
