Pudding Anyone?

As the weather was set fairish we decided to "do" a village after lunch, a habit we seem to have grown out of but hopefully can be revived.

We looked at the map and spotted Hanley Castle.  There may have been a castle there once upon a time, but now the main building is Hanley Castle School, though apparently the village has some interesting older buildings and pub, a place for a future visit.  Nearby is the village of Hanley Swan, which is where we went.  The centre piece is the village green holding a nice looking pub, yes you guessed it, The Hanley Swan, and a very large duck pond complete with seats and picnic tables, oh yes and ducks.

There are the village stores and two churches, one of which we had a look round their grounds.  It also has the world's largest Christmas Pudding, which if it had been Saturday I could have entered for Silly Saturday. While we're on the subject of Christmas the village post box is very festively decorated, see extra.
