It's still cold

Having spent the last couple of weeks in warm houses, it's been somewhat of a shock to the system to return to our chilly apartment (still chilly even though the weather is not so cold).  We struggled to get warm last night - W went to bed fully clothed, and wearing gloves!  And it took me an hour to warm up and relax enough to fall asleep.

So today we were on a mission.  We went to the shops - mainly for fruit and veggies, but we were also looking for "warming stuff".  We found a hot water bottle - bit pricey, so we only bought one.  And alternatives to simple logs for the wood burner - the logs we bought are now dry, but are quite large - really could do with splitting in half if we had the equipment.

We also came across these fleecy slippers, and couldn't resist buying a pair each - my feet are much warmer this evening!

Once home, I spent a couple of hours in the sewing room - winter placemats (see extra) now to replace the autumn ones.
