Back at work after a wonderful 17-day absence.
There were eight of these ridiculous chocolate advent calendars unopened and unwanted. Someone suggested putting them in the bin. I suggested taking them apart and recycling them properly. They were put in the bin.
I brought them home.
What would have been almost 4 litres of landfill is now 12g perfectly recyclable aluminium foil, 94g perfectly recyclable plastic, 186g perfectly recyclable card and 375g dubious chocolate that might be OK on the underside of some Florentines.
I find it odd that everyone at work has brought children into this world but doesn't care about the planet they are supposed to live on.
