Woodland fungi

This morning I went to belly dancing and afterwards went for a walk by The Mere as the sun was shining.  There were lots of little birds around and I heard a woodpecker drumming - the first of the year.

There was a pile of old logs in the woodland and I liked the natural arrangement of ivy and fungi - a young turkeytail and a slime mould I think but stand to be corrected if I'm wrong.

Tonight I'm going to the Ellesmere branch of Shropshire Wildlife Trust where they're having their annual social night.  I've been asked to show some of my wildlife photos along with other members so have been busy sorting out a few to use.
