Hinterland

It’s been at least three weeks since we have been here for our soup. We walked down, it was a grand day. Not dull, grey and overcast at all, My mood lifts when I see the sun!. Walked past the County Hotel where sadly three people and a dog died in a fire three days ago. The hotel was bought by an Arab around 7 years ago and has sadly been allowed to deteriorate . It still takes paying guests, but mainly houses homeless and asylum seekers. So he gets government money for doing sod all and folks live in squalor! I read some reviews and saw pics of the inside from guests that booked here and it was disgusting. Investigations are taking place on what caused the fatal fire and there is still a police presence at the building with part of the main road taped off.

I texted mum first thing and she said she had a good night sleep. Hopefully she recovers soon. There are some things she won’t recover from like the heart issue - they won’t operate on her at her age which she agreed in at the geriatric appointment in November.

We walked home via Homesense as mum wanted a diary and I forgot to get one in town. Of course we had to also buy a candle and got some chocolate marzipan sweets which I ripped into straight after paying for, just like a young child! We walked home and we were both struggling with the steep hill near the end! Our fitness levels sure have dropped so need to get back on that!

Finished the first series of DA. But also watched the Hairy Bikers who were in Shawlands (S was happy to see his old school in a scene) and they were also in Troon (spent many a summer time there visiting my cousin). It’s great when a programme goes places you know.
