The old school

Today has been a dull dismal day, so I thought I better look for the most prominent landmark in my village.  This building, known as the Olivet Home, was originally build as an orphanage and opened in 1886.  During the Second World War children were evacuated from Belfast to escape wartime bombing.  It closed as an orphanage sometime prior to 1918 after which it was acquired by the local Presbyterian Church.  On the clock tower is the motto, "The Time is Short".

Despite what the meta data says, this image was taken with a 35mm lens!
