The 'Red' river

Weve decided we need to be more adventurous  in our walks this year, instead of the same ones almost all the time.
Weve made a long list and will tick them off as we do them.

The plan was to walk up to and along the Red River,  so called because the earth is red from the iron ore . It's a nice walk that leads up to Furness Abbey .
Its nicer when it isnt raining! As we left the house it POURED.   But we carried on. The rain did ease off to a drizzle at times but it wasnt the best weather for walking (even with the right clothing)
Fletch did extremely  well. I was concerned he might get tired but he soldiered on. Fingers crossed he remains this fit
