FIRST SILLY SATURDAY OF 2023 IN MEMORY OF ADMIRER

Hello Lovely Blippers

You all know how helpful we are, or try to be, and today was no exception, because when we heard Mrs. HCB say that she needed to sort out all her knitting wool, or yarn, as some people call it, we said we would help.  However, we aren’t quite sure whether we were a help or hindrance because we kept getting tangled up in all the various odd balls of wool, which you can see in this photograph.

We know that it would have made Admirer giggle and after all, this is what the Silly Saturdays are all about - they are in memory of dear Admirer, who started all this several years ago, but who has since sadly died - so for any new Blippers reading this, we are honouring her memory by keeping Silly Saturday alive.  Some people only do it on the first Saturday of the month, but we, the Blip Silly Saturday Gang, like to remember her every Saturday.

Mrs. HCB has been knitting furiously and if you could see the speed at which her needles work along the rows, you would say the same - it almost causes sparks to fly!  Anyway, she has knitted lots of pairs of fingerless gloves and you can see some of them draped around us so we just hope she will soon knit some for us too.  She says that she has knitted so many that she doesn’t even have to look at the pattern now - isn’t that clever?

It’s the same with habits, isn’t it - good and bad - once we have done something for so long, we almost don’t have to think about it, we do it automatically - a bit like cleaning your teeth in the morning and again after every meal, and we all do that, otherwise we would forever be going to visit the dentist because of course, we have to help Mrs. HCB out by eating some of her chocolate and we all know too much sugar or sweet things aren’t good for the teeth - or the waistline.  We do wonder if Yosef the Yeti has been snaffling more than he should, because he does look a little rotund!

I’m sure we don’t need to remind you all about being kind - if you keep doing kind things, then it just becomes second nature.  Then instead of grumbling about things like people pushing into the queue in front of you, or cutting you up when you are driving, you could just smile and say, “Go ahead, I don’t mind”!

Mrs. HCB was delighted that the wool was sorted, but not so happy about the messes we seem to have made, but it will soon get cleared up and we know that Mr. HCB will help, because he is very kind.

Take care everyone, and have a good weekend - it’s raining hard here yet again, but we have a nice warm home and we just think of those who either don’t have a home and have to live outside in all winds and weathers and also of those who have to be outside working today, like our lovely postman, Lewis.

With love to you all from
The Silly Saturday Gang xxx
