The forecast was grim today, and at 10 am we decided we couldn't wait any longer for the rain to stop and set off.

A couple of members were going up Wetherlam, but we didn't want to climb up into the cloud so did a lower level walk starting up the Old Man, bearing left down to Torver and back along the side of Lake Coniston.

Apart from the rain at the start, we had none at all and even enjoyed a little blue sky and sunshine.

We're out for a pub meal this evening at The Ship in Torver, I hope we won't have to walk in the rain!

Extras: Coniston Hall by the side of the lake, but what huge chimneys it has, and some of us in the pub.
