Now and then - number 3

Another photograph of Victoria Square taken from just before the roundabout facing towards Belfast.  The road has certainly been considerably widened.  However The Brae and the shop fronts look much the same.  I do remember the original large building as seen in the archival photo, when it was demolished there was much anger as the frontage was to be preserved, the replacement building was for apartments, although you can see see the top of the original gable end and chimney.  I see the trees are still there at the end of the building.  The village pump and telephone box are long gone.  I have purchased the archival image just for its historic value.
