Free tree

The sign says "Free. Lights do work." I'd hate to be the person who takes this and finds out that sign is wrong. Then again, maybe it's not.

I saw this on my way back from picking up our dinner at Corner Tavern. When (IF?) I visit my mom at the end of the month, I hope to find a little place like Corner Tavern. I also hope to teach her the ropes of her iPad. I want her to feel less isolated.
