Feeling the pinch

We’ve decided to get all the germs over in one fell swoop, beginning with covid at Christmas, ear and throat infections for New Year and then developing a rare complication for early January.

The poor AM had surgery today to attack and deep clean very badly infected throat tissue. Thankfully the surgeon didn’t need to cut into the AM’s neck to access the damaged areas (that would have been such a pain). He has been in hospital since Sunday, after an out-of-hours GP sent him to A&E. I have to say that his care has been so good. We hear about awful waiting times in the NHS but the AM’s serious infection was dealt with as promptly as possible. He was hooked up to iv antibiotics within a couple of hours, and was quite happy to have a bed in a corridor!

I’m glad this part is over now so hopefully he will get home tomorrow.
