Recovering history

Continuing the railway theme!  Today I had an appointment in Belfast and on the way home I stopped to take this photograph.  This is what is left of Neill's Hill Railway Station, my childhood playground, then remains of the station building, platforms and a subway all survived.  In recent years railway enthusiasts uncovered this platform which had been hidden for years in brambles.  I suspect that the low paling fence may be the original, there used to be a public pathway leading to housing in Sandhill Gardens.  Today the track bed is gone and it's been converted into a green walkway and as you can see popular with dog walkers.  Stations further down the line were Knock, Dundonald, Comber and Ballygowan.
