In the Battlements

Volunteer day today with the Leeds Castle curator team wearing my Heritage Watch hat.

Spent much of the day to and from the Castle battlements moving objects to the archive store. Photo is the view from the Battlements corridor on the third floor (servants floor in the 1920s) looking across the roof.

Always enjoy working with the curators, it is such a privilege to handle the objects ranging from antique vases to Art Deco desk lamps to paintings. Care is taken in how the objects are handled, protection measures to store and clean them. It is not a process that can be rushed. Good job Pete (collections officer) and I enjoy a chat while we work.

Walked 3.5 miles and 8017 steps and climbed 21 flights of stairs today. Not bad for 4 hours!

In between object moving I spent a couple of hours making arrangements for the annual heritage watch conference next Monday. Keeping myself busy until my next filming job starts later in the month. Also avoiding tax return admin!
