Snorkelling 2

We went south along the coast today to Champagne Reef so called because of the bubbles of gas venting up from the rocks. The water is lovely and warm.
There’s a small diving and snorkelling company in a little shack on the beach run by a Dutch couple.
As soon as she saw me she knew I would need a small mask. She kitted me out with one which actually fitted and it’s a whole new ball game as they say. Very little water leaked in and it was much more comfortable.
We had a ball swimming around the reef taking photos.
We had fins on to assist with swimming but it was still quite tiring. We spent a decent long time in the water though.I really enjoyed it.

Apparently this is a type of Parrotfish so the snorkelling people told us. They are very important to the health of coral reefs because they eat the algae off the coral. There’s quite a campaign in the Caribbean to dissuade people from catching or eating them.
Do look at LooseCanon’s blip of a lovely clipper parked in the bay outside our hotel.
