Surprise.

Carrying on from yesterday (not able to go out today and , you've guessed it, the sun is out shining brightly at home!)  This is Surprise View and it was a surprise to see much as there was drizzle.  It is a popular vantage point for those continuing up the valley from Ashness Bridge and on to the hamlet of Watendlath.  Clouds lifted and fell yesterday with a brief sun poking through at times.  The view takes in Bass Lake in the distance, but the clouds block out turbines on the horizon (for a change.)  Below me is where the River Derwent enters the lake and close by is the Lodore Hotel and Spa.  The extras show Ashness Bridge (without hordes of tourists,) Ashness landing stage and water flowing from Watendlath Tarn.
