Cowra

Our friend Carol and I are the co-organisers of a Rotary District conference in March for about 400 people. It’s being held in Cowra, about 200 kms west, so we had a quick trip out and back today to tie some loose ends.
A local vineyard is supplying the wines and offering tours which, of course, necessitated an on-site inspection. These are Shiraz grapes which should all be dark skinned and ready for harvest at this time but the exceedingly wet and cool weather over the last few months has retarded the maturation- not a problem, just pushes the season back a bit.
The extra is at a neighbouring table in the cafe at lunchtime. The further west you go, the bigger the hats!
