Life through the lens...

Woody woodpecker

Our Monday certainly wasn’t ‘ Blue’ except for the sky.
We set off in a snowstorm. Did wonder if we were crazy. However by the time we got to Leeds the sky was already beginning to break. The snow stopped and by the time we reached RHS Harlow Carr, in Harrogate, the sun came out and stayed out for the rest of the day.

Still only 1C so we had wrapped up well with big coats, gloves, scarves and hats.
Never seen the car park as empty. Those there were nearly all in Betty’s.
We really enjoyed our walk round the gardens. They are very busy doing some maintenance. Several of the paths were closed, and some tree felling in the woods.

We visited a wonderful exhibition in the library.
See 2nd extra.
The Four Season’s embroidered by The Richmond & Leyburn Creative Stitchers.
All small individual squares put together to make a complete picture. Absolutely exquisite.

Also had a look at the Japanese Shop. Made a couple of purchases for presents.

Visited the bird hide which is where we saw the woodpecker. Not often we get so close. So that is my blip today although I had so many photos to choose from.

Extra No 1 a collage of the winter garden and some of the plants in flower.
A perfect January day.

Finished with lunch at Betty’s. Very mediocre. Haven’t been for years and won’t be going back anytime soon. The only disappointing part of the day.
