A Day In The Life

Snowbird

We only see the dark-eyed juncos when snow is on the ground. I like watching them scratch at the frozen white turf with their feet looking for seeds. They’re favorite is millet, which we don’t have, but safflower and sunflower appear to be acceptable alternatives on a day like today • Snow, sleet, freezing rain - a regular smorgasbord is falling from the sky. The storm just keeps rolling, rolling, rolling in off of the Atlantic and looks to continue through the night; a real mess • Today is a Federal Holiday here in the US: Martin Luther King Day. One of my favorite quotes could have been said a week ago, it’s that timely. As much as time has changed since then, so many things remain the same. Like racism, hate, prejudice, violence. Humankind has so much potential yet ignorance continues to prevail • “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” • Peace & Love
