'Exposed'

Yesterday's blip was just inside the front door, today's blip is just outside the front door.

The builders have fully exposed the roof structure today and just left the metal roofing on as we're expecting more showers for the next couple of days. Tomorrow the repairs begin which will involve removing the corrugated roof sheeting fully to repair the timber structure as required before any re cladding can start. While the roof structure is exposed we've also taken the opportunity to tidy up all of the electrical wiring which is all in the roof space, add some LED downlights and wall feature lights as this is the only opportunity we'll ever get to do this type of work on the house. Thankfully the builders have re-connected the guttering to the downpipes before they left tonight as I don't want to be awake all night again worrying about the rain and what it could do to the back of the house.

Home early from work this afternoon to attend Alan's funeral, always a sad occasion, but he would have been very proud of the way his family conducted themselves with so much dignity and heart today. His family are currently having the wake next door and there are plenty of cars along our road, so we thought best leave it to the people that they don't get to see very often and we'll catch up with them again on the weekend.

Also, the new owners of Chopin have just come to pick up their new family member. They seem like a very likeable and loveable family and we're really pleased to let her go to a home where she'll be lovingly cared for. The new owners 2 kids seemed very excited with their new kitten, and I'm sure couldn't wait to get home to start playing with her.

Wish us luck with the weather for the next week or so.
