Second Day

I didn't drive to and from Glasgow for  the Business for Scotland dinner  last night , as I had intended to, because there was still lots of snow and ice and I seem to be getting a bit more sensible about such things in my old(er) age.

Indeed this morning  waling even the brief distance up to the study to write my weekly column for The National things were slippier than ever as the temperature had gone down well below freezing in the early hours.

Even late this afternoon there is still a fair amount of snow around, and it is starting to freeze again, meaning that the little grass that was peeking through in the few places that have had some sunshine  is now taking on a patina of ice too.
