If you can't beat them...

Blue Spruce ( Picea pungens )

We made what should have been the last visit to the Lodge before tomorrow's guests.  I say should have been as we had one of those situations where each thought the other had put the bag in the car.  So I will be making a trip tomorrow.

Desperate for a blip I took shots of various things and have settled on this Blue Spruce.   In the early days of our ownership of the Lodge, we were in Edinburgh, called into a garden centre, and saw two Blue Spruce at a reduced price.  They were far too large to fit in the car.  The centre agreed to let us pay for them and come back the next weekend.  Fortunately,  at that time we owned a minibus, so back we went.  They are now trees as tall as the Lodge.

It was interesting to watch "Winterwatch" on BBC tv tonight as a lot was filmed just down stream from the Water of Leith conservation centre where Kat works.
