First Sunday of Chinese New Year.

This large group of Chinese people have settled into our church at Birmingham Vineyard. A Chinese Pastor has been employed on the church staff team. She is standing next to the back row just in front of a lady with a pink top.
It is the first Sunday of their New Year.
We were each given a packet (see extra) which normally would contain money, but contained two chocolate coins instead.
The church was decorated with red Chinese lanterns. And a paper banner was displayed in the foyer on which were the words, “Happy New Year of the Rabbit”.
The Pastor Pui (pronounced Poy) spoke this morning.
It’s good to see them all settling in and interacting with the “normal” congregation.
They each have such a story to recount as to how they made the journey.
Eager to improve their English and find work where they can get it.
Stephen talked to one of them recently who was working in a warehouse.
They made a colourful happy group after the service had finished, having a group photo.
