Droopy

We’re in Brisbane for the night, enjoying a long-delayed Christmas get-together with my brother and sister-in-law.  The delay was caused by covid in the Brisbane family last month.

The photo is of the fruit of the Giant Spear Lily, Doryanthes palmeri. It is growing in parkland nearby. The flower/fruit spike is about 3 metres long, way above my head. This webpage mentions that this species of Doryanthes is characterised by a droopy flower spike.
