Colour in the winter forest

Thursday
The sun was out today, and we went out to enjoy it late morning at Rowe Woods. The Forest in winter can seem a fairly colourless place, but if you look around and take note, colour can be found in the abundance of moss, Christmas ferns, and the colourful Beech leaves still hanging on, and today the background of a beautiful blue sky, which has been pretty rare so far this winter. The pretty little Carolina wren also gave me a treat, keeping still long enough to have its picture taken!
