Burnham-on-Sea

We drove over to Burnham today to meet Colin who had caught the train there this morning.   The weather was dire, cold, misty, damp, not nice to be out in, and not ideal seaside weather. We parked up at the front and walked along the, very quiet, promenade before heading into the town centre.  Comparing Burnham and Wells is similar to chalk and cheese, let's just say Burnham would not be top of my list of places to stay.

A beacon of light guided us to the local Costa for morning coffee.  From there we did a little investigation of local eateries, most closed, but found Rainbow Lounge, although virtually empty, had a reasonable lunchtime menu. This was followed by brief forays into the local charity shops and regrouping at Costa for an afternoon drink before heading back to the car to take Colin back to the station.

So plenty of chat and catching up and nice to see Colin again.

The photo is brother and sister, Colin and Ann, on the misty front.  In the Extras is a long shot, the tide was well out, of some Oystercatchers.
