Celebrating Scotland’s National Poet

I love that Rabbie Burns gave the world a verse that is sung all over the world on New Years Day! Probably many of the people singing Auld Lang Syne have no idea of its heritage and use Zyne instead of Syne but it’s cool that Scotland gave the world this iconic verse written by Rabbie.

My grandfather was a great lover of Burns’ verse and his life. I have his notes here and the picture is of him addressing the haggis at a Burns Supper in Blackford. I have no doubt plenty of whisky was drunk. His notes on Burns character and life are very interesting to read. I bet he could have made it his specialist subject in Mastermind.

We walked down to Hinterland for some soup and to drop off old perfume and aftershave bottles at the Perfume Shop. I found out that you can drop them off there and they dispose of them and you get 10% off a purchase there.
