And so ...

... it snowed.

Just in time for Wild Wednesday!  Hard to believe but this in only the second accumulating snow storm of this winter.  And it was the perfect snow ... we didn't have to go anywhere and it was melted by the morning due to rain later this evening into the night.

The squirrel in the upper left had us laughing out loud with all the snow on it's back and tail.  He is holding his tail up over his head while the snow came down fast and furious.  Just like a built-in umbrella! The snow didn't seem to slow his down at all ... consuming lots of the bird seed put out for the birds!

But as you can see there was still plenty to go around for them.  They include (clockwise from upper right) a white-breasted nuthatch, a female dark-eyed junco, a male dark-eyed junco and a white-throated sparrow (bottom left).   Please have a look in gallery view.

Thanks to Cailleach for keeping Wednesday's wild!
