Wilfred Owen and the bandstand

I picked my granddaughter up from school this afternoon as she’s staying with me for the weekend while her mum and dad are away.

We went to the playground in Cae Glas Park which is where I took this photo of the bandstand through the sculpture of WW1 poet Wilfred Owen.

While playing, she made friends with two little girls of about her age. They didn’t speak any English so she went to their mothers and asked them. Apparently they were Ukrainian. They carried on playing and when the two girls were talking I would catch my eye and shrug!

It was lovely how they played together without having the same language, sometimes children can teach adults a lesson.
