Life through my eyes

Tulip or chicken?

I'd kept some of the tulips from a few weeks ago to dry as I thought the forms and textures might come in useful!  I thought this one looked like a chicken curled up in the glass.

We have been busy today.  Mr T mostly stayed awake too.  This morning a Public Advisory Group Meeting for the dementia project where I'm part of the research team.  The professor leading this is brilliant, and gave a brilliant presentation on why early diagnosis is so crucial.  If the research is successful it could help identify people up to 20 years earlier while the brain is still intact.  Once the damage has started there is no way to fix that.  Interestingly as well the more educated one is (i.e. sat more exams so have more developed coping strategies) means a higher score for longer on the current test, so people die quicker after diagnosis as it was masked by performing well on the tasks.

This afternoon was a PPI Leadership Team catch up and a great natter with the researcher who was also a fellow (and very good) artist.

Finished my writing week 2 bootcamp homework and submitted it.  One other person wanted longer so the deadline got extended.  I felt it was tight for a reason and wanted to stick with the 18:00 Friday deadline.

And then finally the cartoon workshop run by Steve Marchant of the Cartoon Museum. He's brilliant, has a great sense of humour (used to be a comedian and trained alongside Vic Reeves), but also very good at demonstrating and commenting on our work!

Mr T quite enjoyed all of this today and stayed awake!
