South Coast Scribblings

Haskins again!

I was taken by a friend to Haskins today for belated coffee and cake to celebrate my birthday which was last week. I had lovely lemon fudge gateau with my favourite vanilla latte. Julie (who is in the photo) was a bit less naughty and had a toasted teacake and black coffee - one reason why she has such a lovely figure and mine is a little less lovely! We had a good wander around Hobbycraft and I bought some acrylic paints and a bright pink storage box for them. I'd been cheaping out previously and using a £1 box and old hessian jam jar bags to store them in! So everything is nicely organised now and I also packed away my pastels into a storage box as they have been lounging around in a plastic bag with my guitar standing on top of them! I used to love using pastels, but you have to frame them and it gets a bit complicated. I prefer to use box canvases that you can hang straight onto the wall - hence acrylics need to be used. Julie bought a tapestry cushion to do which shows a dog wearing a lifebelt, as her cocker spaniel has to wear one on their narrow boat!

The weather today is lovely and sunny, and much warmer. I should go out for a walk in the fresh air this afternoon - maybe I will!
