Tiny Lighthouse

It's not exactly a macro shot, but it's quite small for a lighthouse - the tower is only 7 metres high.

The Richmond River Light at Ballina was built in 1879, to a design by NSW Colonial Architect James Barnet. I've blipped about him before, including last month with a photo of his Tacking Point Lighthouse some 400 km south of here. The Richmond River Light originally had an attached annex building, like that at Tacking Point. Wikipedia says that it was demolished in1940. What a shame.

The tree in the foreground is a Coastal Banksia, B. integrifolia

Thanks Pinkhairedlady for hosting this Tiny Tuesday.
