James Watt, Artist

Ships Ahoy!

Out and about today visiting schools, talking with teachers about what each class will be doing.

First stop, St Joseph's PS in Greenock where the P5's have been doing a lot - a lot - of work on shipbuilding, including making their own models, investigating the Titanic, writing reports, researching online.... They're also the class which visited the QM2 yesterday.

Today's photo is just a corner of their classroom, which is full of all their work, including individual 3D designs for cabins!

So, working on James Watt's painting is an ideal aspect to add to what they've been doing.

Next stop was Inverclyde Academy where an S3 Art & Design class will be analysing particular James Watt paintings, in part and in detail, as well as the wider canvas. They'll be creating their own drawings inspired by specific paintings.

Final stop was at St Columba's HS where an S4 English class will be exploring James Watt's paintings as inspiration for their own creative writing, a new dimension.

Don't you just love it when teachers and pupils make something their own!
