Uptown München

Uptown München is the second tallest structure (after the Olympic Tower) in Munich. With 146 metres it is the tallest high-rise in Munich, though. It is commonly known as O2 Tower (for all too obvious reasons). Completed in 2004 it's cuboid and supposedly plain structure caused many disputes and led to a referendum. The result of that was that no buildings higher than 100 metres are allowed to be built within the inner city. However, this reslut was only binding for one year and discussions about new scyscrapers close to the city center are ongoing. If you asked me, I like the building's simple façade and would support any motion to build high-rises in the inner city again - of course excluding the historic city center.
