Before and after

The tree guys were wonderful. They finally finished mid afternoon yesterday but still spent over two hours just tidying up, collecting up odd bits of foliage from around the garden, clearing small piles of needles that accumulated by the shredder (pictured yesterday) and generally returning the garden to a reasonable state.
The row of conifers in the top picture is about half the full length but its difficult to take a picture of the whole thing. So much more light and a totally different view to previously.
It was a big scary decision to chop these down, we hoped what we would be left with  a hedge and not something that looked like very tall trees that have been cut down. I think we have got away with it.
