Some fling

Quite a good day. Some sorting, but no forced things to do today.

The electrician came in the morning to see our ceramic stove, where one of the plates hasn't been working almost since Christmas. The stove is only under ten years old, and also of high quality, he said wondering. We will have a new one.

Then we decided to go for a short drive with a car. Remembered Haltiala farm about 8 km from home. It's like a piece of the Finnish countryside,  where you can see some domestic farm animals like sheep and cattle. We have been there a long time ago on a little picnic, when there weren't any animals yet, I think. We both do know very well what farm animals are, but were interested in seeing the place now and the animals there. The sheep were inside this time a year. We didn't get there, because I couldn't park the car near enough to be able to walk there without an aid. But we found another place with Highland cattle! I'm sure many of you know them. They have been raised here in Finland since 1993. Guess the the cold variable climate is suitable to them. We saw them first at 2005 in western Finland, where we were sorting my father's estate after his death, in the place where I come from. In the main picture you recognize the cattle, there were only two.

When coming home, in the stairwell I smelled kind of pancake, thin and round ones called "ohukainen" or "räiskäle". See Extra. When we Finns talk about a pancake we mean clearly thicker one, that is usually baked in the oven. In addition, unlike other countries, pancakes in Finland are often square, while these small "räiskäles" are round. My wish to Mr H was räiskäles today. With shortly made apple jam. In a moment, njam.
