Sunset boulevard

View from the window this evening. We’re on the wrong side of the main coast road now, so the sea is further away, and there is some traffic noise. Still pretty though.

Into town first thing with the usual long shopping list when we arrive and figure out what we are missing. I still think it’s a bit shabby to rent out a house for holidays and not provide a corkscrew! Luckily we had a bottle of cava with us for yesterday evening. We split the shopping and did it all quite efficiently, with a break midway for coffee and tostadas at El Templo.

We went to old favourite La Corregidora for lunch. It’s only a five-minute walk from here. When they moved to this out of town location just before the pandemic, we worried that it wouldn’t work for them. But they’re clearly victims of their own success. It was crowded, and our simple 3-course meal took two hours due to very long gaps between courses. Still only 12.50 though … amazing value. I don’t think I need anything else to eat today.

We went for a brief walk around the neighbourhood in the late afternoon, and when I got back I sat on the terrace until the sun dipped behind the hill and it got chilly.
