Sunbeams

By Saffi

All is well

Glorious sunshine. Gardening, mowed the lawn. Hung the washing out to dry. Rescued a toad treading water in a bucket of rain water. Fat pheasant sunbathing on the lawn.

In the afternoon, we just remembered we had to vote for our local council elections, it was postponed for a fortnight because one of the candidates died unexpectedly. Met a friend at the polling station who is about to have open-heart surgery at the BRI in Bristol. Her husband suffers from some chronic illness as well as a type of dementia and has to go into respite for three months as J will not be in fit state to care for him. Her anguish was unbearable. She does not know where he will be sent and whether he will cope. This makes our problems fade into thin air.
