Firecracker

We planted this witch hazel last autumn. It only has flowers on the lower stems. I don’t know if the rest are going to burst forth. My entry today for flower Friday, if they can be called flowers, but nothing else is in flower in my garden.
I led a walk along the coastal path towards Exmouth this morning and as the tide was low (as planned), we walked along the beach from Straight Point. The sun even attempted to come out and it stayed dry.
We bought a couple of birthday cards on our return and then this afternoon we went to post them (one to Canada, needed correct stamps). 
So our total mileage today has come to 9.5 miles plus. I say plus because my Fitbit always under reads the true mileage, probably nearer ten.
