Scilla

The snowdrops are out and will soon be blipped I'm sure. Today though it's the turn of the squills, scilla  mischtschenkoana. A long name for a tiny bulb and flower. This morning there was some frost on the petals but these are hardy plants which aren't worried by the cold. If any early pollinators are about they'll be glad that the squills have flowered. I'm trying to fall back in love with macros but it's somehow a bit of a struggle.

The girls came to visit this morning and it was good to get an update on the seven year old's Brownie sleepover, after school French club and scoring some tries at rugby. I've got to hope it's very light touch rugby. The girls set up a pet show with all the soft toys they could find. Bernard Bear was declared the winner.

We had a walk in the early afternoon which was pleasant enough. There's no wind. There were 9 roe deer in one of the fields. Some pretty teal, some oystercatcher and some goosanders on the river. Nothing unusual today.

I'm going to do some baking, some ironing (minimal) and some prep for the week ahead. I won't watch the final Happy Valley till tomorrow evening so no spoilers please!
