Newcastle Downunder

Cottage creek

This is a newish bridge built by the developers over the Cottage Creek canal.  This is where the stormwater from a large catchment area drains into Newcastle Harbour.  No surprise then that in the Pasha Storm with King tides it simply couldn't cope with the run off and the road here was about one metre under water.  People don't believe it when they see the flood marker signs with the levels where the water got to.

Anyhoo, while there was a stiff Nor'easter, the long exposure has smoothed the surface and the bridge gives a smooth passage over Cottage Creek.   There was a chap fishing and he was having a rough time (can you see him).  Ahem.  Well perhaps I am stretching it here.   Thanks for hosting Pinkhaired lady.   Gosh, TT straight into MM, you deserve a medal.

I've put the colour version up in the extra.
