A seed

Again, the macro world reveals what we can't see with the naked eye. I think I like this idea because I've spent a lot of time staring down microscopes.

This seed head is soft and delicate, about 3cm in diameter. I had to close all windows and doors to take this photo, as even my breath would send it scurrying across the tablet. So I stopped breathing, for as long as it took to do an in-camera focus stack (about one second).

The surprise was the little hairs coming off the main filaments, of this essentially spherical object.

Thanks for hosting Debbi.
